Derrick Leak

Derrick is a native of Columbia and currently resides in Howard County. He works as a Private Client Relationship Advisor at Brown Advisory where he leads a team of advisors, associates, and analysts. Derrick is responsible for managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families and handles trust administration matters. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Brown Advisory, he was a Senior Advisor at Convergent Wealth Advisors, a Senior Director in the Financial Advisory Group of a sports agency, and more recently, a Senior Regulatory Analyst at FINRA. He started his career at Cambridge Associates, where he worked in the investment performance reporting group.
Derrick earned his bachelor’s from Morehouse College in 1994 and went on to earn his master’s from George Washington University in 2006. In addition to being a Board of Directors member with OhanaHC, Derrick is involved with a variety of organizations in the area, serving the board of directors of Gaudenzia and the Howard County Estate Planning Council, and as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for Burtonsville Fire Department.
