Rick Robb

Rick is the current Principal of Patuxent Valley Middle School through the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS). He spent 13 years in information technology serving Ernst and Young, Proctor and Gamble, and numerous state and county governments. Soon after, he began working with youth in the juvenile and rehabilitation centers of Ohio and Maryland. Upon receiving his English and Education degree in 1994, he started his education career teaching English at Kettering Middle School, Duval High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School of Prince George’s County.
In 2000, Rick transferred to HCPSS, where he taught English at River Hill High School for 11 years. While teaching, he acquired his master’s in school counseling, was Principal of HCPSS Evening School for seven years, and Principal of HCPSS Comprehensive Summer School program for 10 years. Rick was the Assistant Principal at Long Reach High School and Marriotts Ridge High School, and the Administrator-in-Charge of the Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL). He has written articles and presented at local, state and national workshops on technology in education.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, twin boys, and younger daughter. He likes to dabble in shooting Olympic-style Recurve archery, competitively. Rick looks forward to working with the OhanaHC and becoming a volunteer for the youth of the community.
