OhanaHC seeks to remove learning obstacles and reduce isolation for all people involved by facilitating diverse, healthy, long term relationships around high school freshmen and their families.
OhanaHC forms an extended community family, an Ohana, around students who have struggled with academic achievement yet demonstrate incredible learning and leadership potential that will be actualized with the right combination of resources and opportunities.
Four volunteers work with each student and become their Ohana, developing mutual trust and long-term bonds. We create connections to people and help our most vulnerable students become successful community members.
OhanaHC mentors also form strong bonds. Ohanas are diverse groups of people who generally would never have met. By working together toward a shared goal, we learn from each other and broaden important lines of communication.
Simply put, OhanaHC changes many lives.
To meet our goals, OhanaHC needs to continue to grow.
Our community partners are vital to our success.
