5K and 1 Mile Fun Run & Walk
Our 5K and 1 Mile Run & Walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds directly support youth in Howard County.
The 2026 event met its fundraising goal thanks to generous sponsors, fundraisers, and hundreds of participants. Runners, walkers, families, teams, and community members of all fitness levels joined together to support Howard County youth.
The incredible community support will help us expand opportunities for young people long after race day. Funds will support Pathfinders alumni with post-high school needs, including driver’s licenses, college-related expenses, career-readiness opportunities, and other resources to help young adults take their next steps with confidence.
We’ll also be able to reach more youth by expanding after-school programming and strengthening middle school partnerships.

You can cheer from anywhere by becoming a fundraiser, regardless of participation. Create your fundraiser page with your name, goal, and more. You’ll get a link to share with friends and family, and on social media.

A portion of each sponsorship is considered a tax-deductible donation to OhanaHC.
Volunteer
Hundreds of volunteers help make race day possible every year. Sign up for a shift and get community service hours. Stay for an hour or stay the whole time. We have shifts throughout the event from set up to break down.
About OhanaHC
Rally your friends, neighbors, and colleagues and raise money for youth in Howard County. Our nonprofit is growing. This school year, we’re adding 100 mentors. Every student is paired with three mentors, providing access to diverse perspectives and opportunities.
For 6 years running, OhanaHC has been empowering underrepresented Howard County youth by helping them:

- Build community by developing relationships with people outside their usual social circles.
OhanaHC began at Wilde Lake High School and has since expanded to include 50+ students and 150+ volunteer mentors and advocates across these high schools.
